With the display of the Enghelab Square mural bearing the slogan “You Will Kneel Before Iran Again” and the unveiling of the sculpture “Those Kneeling Before Iran,” the special program “Iran Night” was held on Friday evening at Enghelab Square in Tehran with a massive public turnout.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Development Organization, the special program “Iran Night” was held on Friday evening, 16 Aban, at Enghelab Square in Tehran, featuring a free street concert and a large public presence. The event was attended by Hojjat-ol-Eslam Mohammad Qomi, Head of the Islamic Development Organization, Alireza Zakani, Mayor of Tehran, and a number of urban managers.
This cultural and artistic event was organized on the occasion of unveiling the sculpture “Those Kneeling Before Iran,” created by Payam Ghane’. The seven-meter-tall fiberglass sculpture depicts a narrative of the historical power of Iranians, when Valerian, the King of Rome, after attacking Iran, surrendered to the Sassanian king and knelt before him. At the base of the sculpture, 13 panels have been installed, each illustrating an important chapter of Iranian resistance against foreign aggressors—from resistance against the attacks of Alexander to confronting colonialism, the Imposed War, and victory over Daesh. The sculpture will remain at Enghelab Square for 20 days and will then be transferred to Azadi Square.
For the comfort of citizens, the area surrounding the square was illuminated with large projectors, and a massive video wall covering more than 700 square meters was installed to enable the display of images, live orchestra performances, and the broadcast of special programs for the audience. The ceremony began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Jomhouri-ye Eslami-ye Iran, during which people stood in respect for the homeland and joined in singing the anthem while waving flags.
Additionally, the new mural of Enghelab Square was unveiled yesterday. One side of the image features Iranian commanders, kings, and self-sacrificing defenders who protected the country throughout different historical periods, while the other side depicts the enemies of Iran kneeling before it.
